Overview
This piece reimagines a poster for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai through a more conceptual and symbolic lens. Rather than relying only on character imagery, the design focuses on visual storytelling to communicate the emotional tone of the film.
The final composition uses the setting of a basketball court to reference one of the film’s most recognizable motifs, creating a poster that feels cinematic, nostalgic, and visually grounded in the story.
Design Rationale
The central concept was built around a basketball resting on the court floor, using it as a visual symbol of memory, connection, and nostalgia within the film. The title was treated like scuff marks on the surface of the court, helping it feel embedded into the environment rather than placed on top of it.
The intended audience was also an important consideration, so the design aimed to feel emotionally familiar to viewers who know the film while still remaining visually engaging and easy to read. Texture, blending modes, and composition were carefully used to create a poster that felt cohesive, atmospheric, and connected to the story.
